Passage through life...with 8-Bit music!

Passage is a unique game to say the least. When you first begin playing a few things might be going through your mind like, "what is this game?" and "oh cool music!". This is a very simple game that is actually very deep. You have the choice to start off by yourself or you can continue onward and meet your partner. Then you set off on your journey, you can walk in a straight line or you can move around , but no matter what you eventually run into some obstacles. As you continue on the path your character ages and if you are with your partner she eventually dies leaving you to wonder on your own. As sad as that sounds I believe that is where the theme of the game really hits most people. Life is not just a straight path you can move around and change your experience and what you go through, however in the end the result is still the same. The game itself is short, I myself went back and played it about three times more after the first time.

Games

Games have been a part of history since man could walk. One could imagine cavemen throwing rocks or keeping track of who hunted the most animals in a given time. To them it may not have seemed like a game, but in a way keeping track of points and things like that are parts of gaming. Competition has always been part of gaming. All the best games are usually the most competitive, that is not to say that a game that isn't competitive can't be a good game, but for the most part games like call of duty or games where a highscore is kept are normally the highest selling. Games are also just a way to pass the time as is the case for board games and card games. In the old west cowboys would get together at a saloon and play poker or blackjack as a way of entertainment and as a form of gambling. In the 60s and 70s games like twister, monopoly, and sorry!, filled households with joy on nights when there may not have been anything to do or maybe just a dedicated family game night. Now games are mostly online whether on a computer or through a game console. Only time will tell where games will go as they evolve and move with humans through history.
